Audie Murphy -- Farmersville's Hometown Hero

Each year the citizens of the small North Texas town of Farmersville gather to honor local veterans.  The birthday of Farmersville hero Audie Murphy kicks off with a military flyover of the historic downtown square.  That is followed by a parade featuring area vets, antique cars, floats, and area dignitaries.

Following the parade, a ceremony at the Onion Shed further honors the veterans as well as the memory of Audie Murphy, America's most decorated war hero.

Audie Murphy Day is sponsored by the Farmersville Main Street Program.
